Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing or using Blink (“the Software”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

2. Who can use it

You must be old enough to enter into a binding agreement where you live, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms for you.

3. What the Software is

Blink is voice control for macOS. While you hold a key, or while Listen Always is on, it turns your speech into words on your Mac, reads what is on screen and carries out what you said: it opens and arranges apps and windows, chooses menu items, presses buttons and links, drags files and icons, switches tabs, types and dictates. You can also record a routine once, a macro, and have Blink repeat it when you say its phrase or on a schedule. It can use an optional model on your Mac.

4. Actions taken on your behalf

You use Blink at your own risk. Speech recognition can mishear you and Blink can match your words to the wrong thing on screen. It may then press the wrong control, type into the wrong place, send or delete something, or close what you meant to keep. Blink asks before risky actions it overhears, but it cannot know everything that matters to you.

You are responsible for what Blink does on your behalf, including messages sent, purchases made, data changed or lost, and settings altered. Before asking for something that cannot be undone, check that Blink heard you, and keep backups of what you can’t afford to lose.

A macro repeats the steps you recorded, so it does the same thing again even if the screen has changed. It asks before risky steps unless you set a scheduled macro to do them anyway, in which case it can send, delete or change things while you are away. Test a macro before you schedule it.

With Listen Always on, anyone who can be heard by your Mac can give it commands. Turn it off when that matters.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Software, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, even if the developer has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall the developer’s total liability exceed the amount you paid for the Software.

6. No warranty

The Software is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free or that it will always understand you.

7. Models and tools you download

Models you download come from Hugging Face under their own licenses. The developer is not responsible for that service or for what the models return.

The optional local model needs llama.cpp. If you choose Install in Terminal, Blink opens your Terminal on a script that installs it with Homebrew, and installs Homebrew first if your Mac does not have it. Those are separate tools under their own licenses and terms, and you run them yourself, on your own Mac, after you confirm. The developer is not responsible for them.

8. Permissions and your Mac

Blink needs Microphone, Accessibility and, for some features, Speech Recognition, Screen Recording and Automation access, which you grant in macOS. It uses them only to carry out what you ask. Keep your Mac locked when you leave it; anyone at an unlocked Mac can use Blink as you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the developer from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Software or your violation of these Terms.

10. License

You can try Blink free: a few commands run without a license, after which Blink asks for a license key. It is sold for a one-time price, with no subscription; buying it gets you a license key. Each license is for one Mac: the developer grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Software on one Mac you own or control at a time, and you may move it to another Mac you own or control; the customer portal shows the Mac using a license and lets you remove it, which frees the license for another Mac.

For several Macs, each needs its own license. You can buy them in one order for a lower price each: the checkout asks how many, and the price per license follows the number you buy. After paying, you assign each license to a person (it can be you) and each gets their own license key by email; a key stays with the person it is assigned to. If you need more than ten, write to us. A license key stops working if its order is refunded or reversed. You may not redistribute, reverse-engineer, decompile or create derivative works based on the Software.

11. Payments

Purchases are processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record and handles payment, taxes, receipts and your license keys, which it emails: one for each license, to the person you assign it to. Prices are shown before you pay and include any taxes Polar is required to collect. Polar’s own terms apply to the purchase.

The price goes up in rounds as copies sell, so it can be higher tomorrow than it is today. It never changes for a license you have already bought: you pay once.

12. Updates

Blink checks for new versions with Sparkle and asks before installing one. Updates may add, change or remove features. Your license covers the version you bought and the updates released for it.

13. Intellectual property

The Blink name, logo, visual design, website content and all associated materials are the exclusive intellectual property of the developer. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. You may not copy, reproduce, imitate or create derivative works of the Blink brand without prior written consent from the developer.

14. Open-source acknowledgments

Blink includes open-source software, and the models it downloads when you ask for them are published under their own open licenses. The notices and full license texts for all of them are included with the Software. The optional speech models are credited to their authors: Parakeet V3 by NVIDIA, Parakeet Ultra by Moondream, and Fluid Speech Mini by FluidVoice (built on both), each under CC BY 4.0. The use of these components does not imply endorsement by their authors.

15. Refund policy

If you’re not satisfied with Blink, for any reason, email support@getbl.ink within 7 days of buying it and we will refund you in full; a refund covers the whole order, and its license keys stop working. After that, if Blink doesn’t work on your supported Mac, email us and we will work to fix it or refund you; a short video of the problem helps. No refunds are given for the results of actions Blink carried out as asked (section 4).

16. System requirements

Blink requires macOS 26 Tahoe or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon. Its commands are in English. The speech model Parakeet V3 can type what you say in 25 languages, but commands stay English for now. Some features need Screen Recording, a supported browser or a model download.

17. Marketing communications

When you buy Blink, your email address is collected as part of the purchase. By completing a purchase and not asking for a refund, you agree that the developer may send you occasional emails about Blink: updates, new features and offers. Every one includes a clear way to unsubscribe, after which you will only get emails about your purchase. The developer will not sell, rent or share your email address with anyone for their marketing.

18. Changes to these terms

The developer may change these Terms at any time; the new version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use of the Software after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in them limits rights you have as a consumer under the laws of the country where you live.
